Lead singer of iconic 1990s four-piece Southern Sons, New York-born Jones is regarded as one of Australia’s most legendary musicians with an innate ability to entertain his audiences with tunes we all love to sway to.

Starting out with the band as a 19-year-old guitar prodigy, alongside Peter ‘Reggie’ Bowman (guitar), Phil Buckle (guitar), Geoff Cain (bass) and Virgil Donati (drums), the Melbourne band released their debut self-titled album in 1990, achieving huge success with singles such as ‘Heart in Danger’, ‘Always & Ever’ and ‘Hold Me in Your Arms’.

Armed with catchy lyrics, adept songwriting, and outstanding vocals, the band released two more albums with Jones before he called it a day, reverting to his birth name of Irwin Thomas and working with a slew of incredibly talented artists from all over the world. From John Farnham, Rick Price, Garry Beers (INXS) and Tina Arena, to the likes of Guy Sebastian, Renee Geyer, Daniel Bedingfield and Jon Toogood (Shihad), among many others, Jones is a major talent worthy of recognition.

Recent years have seen the two times Platinum, eight times Gold and APRA award-winning singer-songwriter embark on a series of solo tours, briefly reuniting with the band for a series of shows, and most recently releasing his newest album, Unplugged, featuring acoustic versions of the best of the Southern Sons catalogue.

After performing to sold-out shows around the world and making an indelible impression on the hearts of music lovers and live-gig aficionados, he is gearing up to make us swoon again within Winchelsea’s The Barwon Hotel, the third oldest pub in Victoria.

With a guitar and his melodic voice, Jack Jones promises to deliver a fun time full of nostalgia, taking his fans 30 years in time.

It all goes down at The Barwon Hotel, Winchelsea on Saturday, April 24. You can purchase tickets here.
