The Surf Coast Song Contest returns for 2022, entries now open

The fourth annual Surf Coast Song Contest is now open for registrations.

The annual Surf Coast Song Contest is back for 2022, searching for a song to best represent Art of The Minds’ aims of activating, educating and engaging the Surf Coast and wider community to creatively manage mental health and wellbeing.

The contest, now in its fourth year, is returning this October as part of the annual Art Of The Minds Festival and musicians can enter for the chance to win the grand prize: a recording of their winning song.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

The winning song must reflect this year’s festival theme of ‘Songs of Hope and Wellbeing’, and can traverse any genre and include any instruments.

The winning song will be featured in the 2023 Art Of The Minds Festival and used to help create awareness of Mental Health and Wellbeing. The winning artist will also be given the opportunity to perform at the 2023 Festival Launch and Song Contest, with the festival expecting a huge audience turnout of those seeking to experience the raw passion, shared emotion and community spirit that embodied the 2021 Surf Coast Song Contest and saw The Express Empire take out the top prize.

The Festival Launch and Song Contest will take place at the Torquay Bowls Club on Thursday, October 13 from 7pm.

To enter, artists must submit a $30 entry fee per song via the ‘Book Online’ button on the website and send the following files to [email protected]:
•Your song, reflecting the theme “Songs of Hope and Wellbeing”, in MP3 format, max 5 min in duration
•One Word document with a short artist bio, lyrics and up to 25-word song description
•Headshot as a jpg file
