There’s a lot more on offer than just the hard yards as well. There’ll be music from local artists, a ticketed ‘glamping’ experience, beach-side yoga, a kite festival, and the always hilarous Pub to Pub Waiter’s Race on Saturday, which sees local pub staff race each other while holding a pint on a waiter’s tray.

But for eager participants, it can be quite the endurance test. On Saturday, athletes can take part in the 14 kilometre Paradise Run, a 6-kilometre run and a 1.5-kilometre ‘Kids Gallop’, all starting from Apollo Bay. Distances on Sunday include the ultramarathon (60 kilometres), Kieser marathon (44 kilometres), 13 kilometres and 6.5-kilometre trail runs.

“As one of the best destination running events in the world, the Kieser Great Ocean Road Running Festival shows off some of Victoria’s greatest natural wonders, from the Great Otway National Park to the Lorne Foreshore. It’s one of the biggest sporting events in the region and the camaraderie and sense of community is second to none. We can’t wait to see thousands of new and familiar faces down the coast this May,” IMG Event Director Brad King said.
