After the incredible positivity and inspiration that emanated from their previous Women’s Day events in 2021 and 2022, the beloved Mornington Peninsula venue has returned with a lineup of breathtaking talent, creativity and game-changing movers and shakers in the community.

Championing inclusivity and community care, the all-day festival will begin with a traditional Welcome to Country Smoking Ceremony by Jillian West before headline artists such as Melbourne’s Miss Emilia and Yorta Yorta Dja Dja Wurrung singer and storyteller Carissa Nyalu take to the stage.

Reflective music for the soul, honey lathered in roots and jazz, Miss Emilia has big hair, and an even bigger voice. Expect a blend of fiery vocals, tender moments, and a sense of watching sunshine on stage. Carissa expresses stories through singing in language as she takes you on a journey where you can feel her deep connection to her ancestral roots. Opening the main stage is emerging singer-songwriter, Lily Clancy. Lily is a local Mornington Peninsula artist whose music promises to spark a flame.

Beyond the music, IWD festival will be a feel-good, all-are-welcome, full-day wellness and arts event where you can kick back and be entertained by touring and local artists as well as embrace creativity and wellness workshops. With yoga, tarot, children’s activities, arts and craft stalls, women’s circle, psychic readings, and live music, attendees can expect a fully transformative experience!

Created for women’s voices and stories to be heard and to celebrate and inspire each other, the event will also feature guest speakers including Lara Marshall, Nanette Abbott and more.

Intended for all gender identities to attend, this festival aims to continue to break down aged- old gender constructions and discriminative bias in our community by providing a fun-filled and safe day for everyone. Further championing change and important conversations, there is also a focus on culture and First Nations history. The wonderful people of Our Songlines will be present on the day with mindful artistic activities that encourage cultural learnings in safe creative ways.

While we suggest you go that extra mile for the females in your life every day, this fun-filled day provides an incredible opportunity for everyone to join in on the wider conversation that acknowledges women in all their diversities. You won’t want to miss this.
