The Max Hotel

As one of the oldest pubs in Geelong located Metres away from the waterfront, The Max has a certain charm that’s kept it as one of the most-loved venues in town.
Originally built in 1854 as the Golden Age hotel, The Max has had several refurbishments and boasts multiple levels and three function spaces that cater to virtually any event – making it one of the go-to spots when booking a celebration. Of the functions spaces, those on level two and three take in the stunning views of the bay, truly making your event space stand out from the rest. By no surprise, The Max has solidified itself as one of Geelong’s premiere function venues.
Beyond hosting private functions, The Max holds numerous events through the week anyone can enjoy in. With live music Friday and Saturday nights, as well as trivia on Thursday and the sports on TV, once the sun sets there’s pretty much always something to keep you entertained at the Max.
While you’re indulging in the entertainment on offer, be sure to grab something from the extensive pub menu, which features several options under $20. For those who really want to indulge, the Scotch fillet on the menu is well worth ordering. Let’s not forget parmi night is on Thursdays and at an easy $14 each.
The flexibility seen in the venues functions offerings stems right throughout the business, and The Max is easily somewhere you could stay from lunch right until the early hours in the morning. And with some of the friendliest staff in Geelong you’ll almost feel right at home.
