The local businesses supporting our Australian farmers

After seeing several heartbreaking stories of Australian farmers not doing so well, it is clear that they need our help. Farmers in Queensland and Northern NSW need our help to keep their cattle, sheep and horses alive through one of the worst droughts in living history and after the cessation of live cattle exports, no wet season and fires. These stories have inspired several local businesses to pitch in and lend a hand.
Big names also jumping on board include Geelong’s power forward Tom Hawkins, who donated $200 per Geelong goal on last week’s game against Hawthorn, with Woolworths matching his $200, and Morris Finance donating $1000 per Geelong goal, raising a whopping $11,200 for the Buy a Bale fund.

Uncle Donut: donating $5 from every 6 pack sold to Buy a Bale – www.facebook.com/uncledonutgeelong
A handful of local pubs have also begun supporting the ‘Parma for a Farmer’ campaign, where a minimum of $1 for every Parmi sold, goes straight to Buy a Bale to help drought affected farmers.
So make sure you buy a Parma at the following venues to do your part.
-Murphys – $1 per Parmi sold in August to Buy a Bale
-The Barwon Club – $1 per Parmi sold in August to Buy a Bale
-Edge Geelong – $5 from every Parmi sold in August to Buy a Bale
-Lara Sporting Club – donating $1.50 per Parmi sold till the end of August to Buy a Bale
-Alfies Café – Alfies will be donating $10 for every Parmi sold on Friday nights between 5-8 for the month of August to the Buy A Bale foundation.
