The Killers announce new album and Australian tour

The Killers have announced their return with their highly anticipated sixth studio album Imploding The Mirage this May which will see them heading on a 2020 world tour.

Imploding The Mirage (set for release on May 29, 2020 on Island Records/UMA) features a huge spread of collaborations with artists including Lindsey Buckingham, kd lang, Weyes Blood Adam Granduciel (War On Drugs), Blake Mills and Lucius. The album – produced by the band in conjunction with Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado of Foxygen – was recorded in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Park City, UT. and it is the first Killers album to be written and recorded since leaving their hometown of Las Vegas, NV.

They’ve given a taste of what’s to come with the first single off the record, ‘Caution’, released today. Both refreshingly next level and reminiscent of the band’s much-loved albums Sam’s Town and Battle Born, it finds The Killers evoking the spirit of ambitious reinvention matched with the kind of anthemic chorus to which they’ve become synonymous. The track also features an iconic guitar solo courtesy of the legendary Lindsey Buckingham.

To celebrate the forthcoming album, The Killers will embark on a world tour, today announcing four Australian dates set to take place across November. The shows join previously announced tours of the UK and Europe, which have already sold out, as well as shows in the US and Canada which will feature special guest Johnny Marr.

Catch them at AAMI Park, Melbourne on Saturday November 21. Tickets go on sale on Monday March 23 at 11am (for Melbourne tickets). Grab yours via Ticketek. Imploding The Mirage is out on May 29 via Island Records/UMA.
