The Ironman 70.3 Geelong is on this weekend, here’s what you need to know

Geelong has long been known as the home of long course triathlon racing and Ironman 70.3 Geelong is set to return to the waterfront.

IRONMAN 70.3 Geelong has long been the best-kept secret on the Oceania circuit, with a stunning venue, world-class course, vibrant community and loads of local support.  No surprise then that this race was voted #1 in the world in 2018 for Overall Athlete Satisfaction … it’s the ideal race to kick-start your year.

A multi-looped fast course, Ironman 70.3 Geelong returns this weekend, this Sunday, March 26, 2023, and is set to test avid triathletes looking for a challenging and unique experience along Geelong’s spectacular waterfront and scenic countryside.

Here are some of the main things you need to know.

The Race

The race start will be a rolling swim start format, where athletes will be encouraged to self-seed according to their estimated swim time.

The ROKA Swim Course remains unchanged for 2023, with the course taking athletes out and back in Corio Bay. The Bike Course is also unchanged, heading out through Eastern Gardens and along the Bellarine Peninsula.

The Hoka Run is one of the most scenic courses within Australia, taking athletes along the edge of Corio Bay and adjacent to the Event Village.

The Athlete Information Guide provides key race details and important event information including check-in and bike-racking, transfers, travel information, course maps, transition tours, start times as well as general event and race information.
