Last year the event saw The IN8 Life raise over $8000 for the charity through Adjusting for Change Day, with their eyes set on $10,000 this year. The funds will go directly to Destiny Rescue, an Australian-based international organisation dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating children from human trafficking. Funds raised will be distributed to the rescue operations division and aftercare programs, offering physical, emotional and educational support to the survivors.
Between 12pm and 3pm, the Adjusting for Change Day event will be open for families to join with activities for all. In addition to a jumping castle, live music from local duo Garden of Eden, giant games and face painting, the clinic will be offering half-price chiropractic adjustments to clients new and regular.
They have further teamed up with food vendor A Taste of Tolga to offer street tacos, and Coffee from Amore to keep everyone well caffeinated. Coffee from Amore will generously be donating 5% of coffee sales directly to Destiny Rescue.
A silent auction will unravel across the day with over 30 local businesses participating and contributing goods, vouchers and services including Pholklore, Hidden Minx, Natural Supply Co., and MoPa. This is not only a great opportunity to support a wonderful cause, but also to experience local businesses. An added bonus is the event comes in the lead up to Christmas, with silent auction items doubling as great gift ideas.
Adjusting for Change Day is already off to a great start on the monetary side, with Little Box of Kindness donating $1000, and event sponsors Shake Counselling and Creative Dental Haus each donating $300 toward the cause.
Practice Manager Steph Sanzaro shares the heartfelt inspiration behind the event: “It all started after watching the film Sound of Freedom. I was deeply rocked by the reality of human trafficking and from that moment, I was committed to making a change. My team at The IN8 Life rallied behind me immediately, and together, we knew this was a cause we needed to champion. Every social post, article, or conversation we have about this event helps raise awareness, and we’re excited to see the Geelong community come together for such a powerful cause. We can’t wait to share this incredible day with everyone!”
