Honour urban street art at Prism City!

This Saturday The Hue and Cry Collective will transform into a prismatic celebration of urban art for ‘Prism City: Alternative Voices in Street Art.’

Showcasing some crazy talent from local artists and around the world, this Hue and Cry Collective exhibition is turning the streets into a gallery!

A dynamic and immersive exhibition Geelong’s newest artist-run gallery, it will showcase the alternative voices in street art. With artists from Geelong, Melbourne and Internationally, the exhibition celebrates these artists, with a particular interest in women, queer, POC and political street artist perspectives.

The Hue and Cry Collective is a cutting edge gallery in the heart of Geelong. Connected to a community of artists, the gallery strives to bring pioneering, emerging and high-quality art to the city. Curator and co-owner, Laura Alice, has worked to champion artists who emphasis alternative processes and possess a unique style. The exhibition will display artists with an unusual range of techniques, from paint to paste-ups, and stickers to installations.

The exhibition is featuring three Geelong-based street artists – Laura Alice, No Frills (Glen Smith), and Myheadsajungle, widely recognised for her work with Piano Bar. International work will include afro-street-art artist and activist, Lily Luciole, who has sent their work installation all the way from Paris, France.

Other featured artists include Kaff-Eine, Creature Creature, Isolde, Brain Foetus, Suki, Manda Lane and so many amazing others!

The exhibition’s opening on Saturday, March 20 at 6pm, is set to be a night of nights! Enjoy good music, good company and great art!

Head to The Hue and Cry Gallery at 64-66 Ryrie St, Geelong VIC 3220, Australia to check out the amazing work!

Prism City will be open on Saturday March 20, but you can also check out the show at The Hue and Cry Collective from March 20 – April 16, 2021.
