The Geelong Library are hosting an Australian Poetry Slam heat

This weekend, the Geelong Library & Heritage Centre is hosting a heat of the Australian Poetry Slam; a live literary performance program where the audience decides the champion.

The Australian Poetry Slam is Australian Poetry Slam is presented by State Library Victoria; is co-created nationally by Word Travels; and supported by state, territory and public libraries and festivals across the country. With a nationwide round of 60 heats, the best slammers will perform for the chance to win the Australian Poetry Slam National Final at Sydney Opera House as part of Story-Fest.

This will be hosted by writer, speaker, educator, performance poet, and Artist Ambassador for TEAR Australia, Joel McKerrow.

Attendees are free to either compete or just consume!

It all goes down on Wednesday 10 July from 6.30-8pm.
