The Geelong Business Awards spotlights some of the region’s most courageous and resilient local businesses

Home Instead Geelong.

Held virtually on Tuesday night, the local awards aimed to unearth the local businesses who have used resilience, creative and technical skills in a formidable way to navigate through a strenuous business environment.

The winners of the 2021 Geelong Business Excellence Awards were announced in a live-streamed ceremony on Tuesday, with 20 awards given to some of the businesses, Young Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders in the Geelong region.

Each year the Geelong Business Excellence Awards (presented by the Geelong Chamber of Commerce) brings together some of the most creative, innovative and thriving businesses that have achieved business excellence in the Geelong region, along with a great number of dedicated local heroes who support Geelong and it’s tight-knit and loyal community – and what a community it is!

These Awards (sponsored by LBW Business + Wealth Advisors and Deakin University) are the oldest continuously running business awards programs in Australia, and, as such, provide a significant recognition and celebration of business achievement and performance – especially now, in one of the most challenging times for our local businesses.

Streaming live from the Geelong Arts Centre and hosted by Natalie O’Donnell, last night’s awards celebrated the region’s clever, creative and resilient business community featuring a beautiful Welcome to Country, a live performance from singer-songwriter Taylor Henderson, inspiring and insightful piece to cameras from the esteemed judges and live crosses to winners, alongside the presence of an Auslan interpreter throughout.

The overall winner of the evening was Home Instead Geelong, who took out the top gong of 2021 LBW Business + Wealth Advisors Geelong Business Excellence Awards Business of the Year. Judges found that the business as emerged thriving within the Geelong community, with customer service and outstanding care giving at the core of every business decision made.

Receiving further accolades on the evening, the business was also awarded The Gordon’s Emerging Business – Under 3 Years Award and founder Giovanni Siano was further awarded the Deakin University Young Entrepreneur Award.

Further highlights this year include Custom Neon, who took out the Medium to Large Business or Division/Department of a Business Award after last year receiving the Digital Engagement Award, as well as Gorge Camorra’s famed 18th Amendment Bar who received their third award in three years with the Hospitality & Tourism Award (Tourism Greater Geelong & The Bellarine).

Other winners taking out awards for the second year in a row include Crew Faced Makeup Artistry, CentreStage, You’re Gorgeous Hair & Beauty, Geelong Gallery, and Adventure Park.
