The Flying Brick Bellarine Sunset Run is back for 2022 so c’mon and get those endorphins pumping

Words by Alice Ruby McDonald

Whether you walk or run, everyone is welcome this year at the Flying Brick Bellarine Sunset Run.

The 2022 Flying Brick Bellarine Sunset Run is back in its regular slot in the local events calendars on February 12th, 2022. After the devastating snap lockdown that saw last year’s event get cancelled, organisers and sponsors are ready to see a great turn out of keen exercisers.

Event Manager Dion says “it was the hardest thing we have had to endure in our six years, but the facts are, the pandemic has seen many families have the biggest challenges of their lifetime.

He continues on to acknowledge loyal sponsors “our sponsors were some of the hardest hit with the Valentine’s Day weekend cancelled, yet they still remained positive that we needed to reschedule and show the community our passion and resilience to host the event.”

The 2022 distances include the Active Feet Half Marathon, Port Phillip Ferries 10km and the reintroduction of the Community Bank Portarlington Bully Buster 4km. Plenty to choose from to suit your needs but keep in mind, all of these are walker friendly as well as for joggers.

Family owned and a huge contributor to Bellarine Community Health Youth Services, the Bully Buster 4km at Portarlington has raised funds exceeding $25,000 in total for the Headspace programmes.

The courses include the breathtaking scenery that the Bellarine Peninsula is proudly home to and full of local supporters cheering you on along the way.

Spots are limited and with more and more people keen on getting out and exercising you’ve gotta be quick!

Secure your spot and register here for the Flying Brick Bellarine Sunset Run on 12th February.
