Undoubtedly Punk Royalty, The Damned, will resurrect their classic lineup for last tour Down Under
In a seismic announcement, The Damned, the unrivalled gods of the genre, have just announced their final Australian tour. Embarking on a journey that spans from 1976 to 2024, this tour marks a historic moment as the iconic band’s classic lineup, which will reunite for the first – and last – time since their peak in 1989.

The stage will witness the revival of their unparalleled creativity, the pinnacle of influence, and an overflow of swagger that defined punk’s zenith.
Kicking off in Brisbane in March, the tour will see the band hit up venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth in 2024.

Rat Scabies spills the beans, “It seemed like the right time. We wanted to do this while we are all still upright, breathing and capable of doing it at a high level and challenge ourselves and each other for the fans. We will play the best of Machine Gun Etiquette ,The Black Album and Strawberries album and chuck in all the other classics. Paul’s playing great (just did the Professor and the Madmen album thing with him), as is Captain and Dave’s singing great too so it’s going to be amazing to be back.”
And they’re not holding back! The setlist promises a sonic feast featuring the highlights from their seminal albums – Machine Gun Etiquette, The Black Album, and Strawberries. Brace yourselves for classics like ‘Neat Neat Neat’ and ‘New Rose’, which holds the distinction of being the first single by a punk band, beating even the Sex Pistols to the punch.
The Damned didn’t just ride the punk wave; they caused a tsunami. They were the first British punk band to tour the United States, triggering the first wave of west coast hardcore and punk. Their influence on the global punk scene is immeasurable, not to mention the fact that they pioneered not one, but three genres – punk, goth rock, and an indelible mark on history.
In the words of the punk legends themselves, “The Damned continue to redefine punk and more, reminding us all that their legacy is not just history – it’s a living, breathing force.”
