The Sydney indie rock band are hitting the road to celebrate three decades of The Honeymoon Is Over.
In the ’90s, if you were driving down some sun-baked Australian highway with a couple of surfboards strapped to the roof, there’s a good chance you had The Honeymoon Is Over jammed into the sound system. The multi-platinum, five-time ARIA award-winning record propelled the band into national stardom, securing their spot in Aussie rock history.
Now, the boys are back to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of their monumental release. They’ll be touring through Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth with a grande finale in their hometown of Sydney.

The album was reissued in June this year, with a deluxe two-disc CD and vinyl pressings available for the first time ever. When the re-release got a ton of buzz online, the five-piece decided it was time to get back on stage.
“Well, I’m not sure what I’ve done, but life keeps handing me gifts! Being a musician, the greatest gifts I can get involve people and Music. But really, what else is there?,” says lead singer Tex Perkins, formerly the band’s lighting manager and member of the blues rock group Beast of Bourbon.
On tour this summer, fans can expect to hear hits from the beloved album as well as highlights from their vast discography.
“To play with The Cruel Sea was something I wasn’t sure would ever happen again. But believe me, it’s happening. Rehearsals have been powerful, emotional, and joyful! The Cruel Sea have a sound that can’t be found anywhere else! (I still feel like a guest singer) I love that sound and I love the guys that make it! And I can’t wait to share this with you all! See you soon, yeah?”
