Before Billie Eilish's 'Birds of a Feather' went viral on Tiktok, Cog was belting of 'Bird of Feather'. It's sure to ring out at Torquay Hotel this month.

From veterans of the Australian music game to current crown jewels of the indie rock scene, Torquay Hotel has something for everyone this October, or as we like to refer to it, ‘Rocktober’.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

Cog are a band you simply cannot hate. High energy, high intensity and a whole lot of fun, Cog have been slamming down their hard rock hits for decades. Following their acclaimed East Coast run earlier this year, the revered Australian rockers are jumping back on the road for a regional run of shows across Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia, a continuation of The Vinyl Tour. The Sea Benz will be joining the three-piece legends on their Torquay Hotel leg.

Floodlights

Floodlights have fast become a favourite on the live music circuit since they dropped their 2019 EP Backyard, quickly followed by their 2020 acclaimed debut album From A View. The band quickly took to the road, playing sold-out shows and festivals across Australia. Amongst this they supported Pavement (USA) and black midi (UK). Their debut international trip soon followed for SXSW in Austin, Texas. Following a huge set at Laneway Festival this year, the band now return with their Can You Feel It Tour and it’s bound to be breathtaking for Torquay Hotel punters.

Middle Kids

‘Edge of Town’ catapulted them, ‘Stacking Chairs’ solidified them and Faith Crisis Pt 1 further expanded their stay. Middle Kids are anything but a middle of the road band and their impressive resume of accolades and road-friends speaks to that, having supported Bloc Party, Kings of Leon, War on Drugs and Cold War Kids and played festivals such as The Governors Ball, Lollapalooza, Osheaga Festival and many more. This tour celebrates Middle Kids third album and is sure to include all of their classics at their Torquay Hotel show.

A huge celebration for a huge contributor to the Australian music industry, legendary punk rock riots Frenzal Rhomb’s masterful album A Man’s Not A Camel turns 25! The album that brought us super hits ‘Never Had So Much Fun’, ‘We’re Going Out Tonight’, ‘You Are Not My Friend’ and taught us an important historical fact about dinosaurs will be revisited on stage as the original lineup play an eight date tour. Their stop-in to Torquay Hotel will be nothing short of epic!

Richard Clapton

When: Sunday 20 October

“Girls on the avenue, they’ll try to get you in” – Richard Clapton is one of our most treasured Australian musicians with one heck of a catalogue and an even more fascinating story to tell. This tour is a standout for fans of Clapton, with the evening at Torquay Hotel divided into an acoustic set to simmer in, followed by a Q&A component led by Mick Newton (A Day on the Green). Clapton returns for a set with his band, shooting through his classic rockers.
