The California Kings: A huge tribute to the Red Hot Chili Peppers is happening in Geelong this weekend

The Geelong Music Community Collective bring their high-energy live show and absolute love of all things RHCP

One of the most successful ever alternative rock bands, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have successfully blended rock with funk, punk and psychedelic grooves to write hit after hit.

If you’re a Chili’s fan and you’re still reminiscing about the time they brought the heat to Mt Duneed Estate for a very special one-off a day on the green performance back in 2019 (in what was their first Australian headline tour in 12 long years), then we’ve got just the thing for you!

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around the region here

If you’re craving a night dedicated to the ultimate funk rock quartet – a band who has transcended three decades of chart-topping success as well as developed one of the largest die-hard followings in the world – it’s time to cancel your Sunday plans. The Geelong Music Community Collective have cooked up ‘The California Kings!’.

Taking over the Barwon Club Hotel on Sunday, June 26 from 6:30 pm, punters will be gifted a wide-ranging set to cover much of their diverse discography including many favourites along with some deep cuts for the die-hards.

Catering to nostalgia with commitment, prepare to down beers, mosh and sing along to the iconic funk-rock sound and high-energy of the Chili Peppers, shouting every lyric as loudly as possible.

Tickets are $10 on the door only, opening from 6:30pm. Get down early.

All proceeds going to IMPACT at Deakin in support of the Dean McInnes Student Award, helping the next generation of researchers tackle mental health treatment.
