The Blues Train continues to be a cornerstone of the Australian music scene, providing a stage for both established and emerging talents.

The Blues Train, Australia’s longest-running Contemporary Blues and Roots music venue, has hit a high note by announcing an additional run in its 30th Anniversary “Women In Blues” series.

Due to the overwhelming success of the January and February events, the Blues Train has added a March 23rd concert to the lineup, featuring the Anthea Jewels Band and The McNamarr Project.

The Women In Blues Concert Series, launched as part of The Blues Train’s 30th-anniversary celebrations, is a curated initiative integrating emerging and established female artists into the main event line-ups from January to May 2024. This series kicked off with performances at the Queenscliff Festival in November, showcasing the diverse talents of women in the Contemporary Blues and Roots genre.

‘The blues is very empowering’: Anthea Jewels Band bring Rebetiko to Regional Victoria

The Blues Train, celebrating 30 years, has been a significant platform for Australian Contemporary Blues & Roots artists, hosting renowned musicians like Chris Wilson, The Tesky Brothers, C W Stoneking, Dallas Frasca, Ash Grunwald, and more. Founder Hugo T Armstrong handpicks up to 10 musicians per event, showcasing the talents of over 300 Australian artists annually.

Each Blues Train event provides a unique experience for more than 7,000 patrons annually. Starting at the Victorian Heritage Registered Queenscliff Station, the train takes attendees on a musical journey along the old Geelong train line, making stops at Suma Park historic homestead and winery, and then at Drysdale.
