The legendary street art festival is set to transform Frankston this March.
From March 20 to 26, The Big Picture Fest will bring together some of the most talented local and international artists to transform public spaces into vibrant and inspiring works of art. With The Block Party taking over the city on March 24, the festival is a celebration of creativity, urban culture, and street art.

In 2023, The Big Picture Fest will immerse the city of Frankston in an extensive gallery takeover. Featuring work from Abbey Rich, GhostPatrol, Marco Morano, Hayden Dewar, Katherine Gailer, LucyLucy and Olana Janfa, discover a retrospective of street art from March 2 until April 1.
Turning the city into an explosion of colour – you can expect to see the work of Smug One, an internationally renowned artist known for his realistic large-scale murals; Heesco, a Mongolian-Australian muralist best known for his prolific work on outback silos; and Katherine Gailer, a Columbian artist who brings a colourful and dreamlike touch to her work which explores women’s empowerment and the natural environment.
But The Big Picture Fest isn’t just about admiring amazing art; it’s also about getting involved and engaging with the festival in a meaningful way. Throughout the weekend, visitors can participate in Night Walk guided tours of the murals, featuring expansive projections by Spanish artist Filip Roca.
They will also be hosting big Picture Fest Tours, an award-winning tour showcasing over 60 murals across the cityscape. With Frankston being the first city to win gold for two consecutive years for their City Street Art Tours, tours of Frankston’s must-see street art are quite literally the best in the entire country.
