The Barwon Club is hosting a massive flood and war relief concert with a bunch of Geelong’s finest bands

Fight Floods & War with Love & Rock will go down on Saturday, April 23.

There’s no doubt the country has been collectively hurting following the devastation unfolding across the Northern Rivers and Southeast Queensland the past couple of weeks with a truly dire situation for flood-affected residents, as well as the devastation that is the Ukrainian humanitarian crisis and the plight faced by people affected by the conflict in Ukraine.

Luckily, the good humans at Boss Brothers Entertainment and B. Bookings have shaped a truly unique fundraising benefit event.

Titled ‘Fight Floods & War with Love & Rock’, the charity efforts will consist of a huge concert at the Barwon Club, featuring Geelong’s finest bands, together with epic acts from Melbourne, the Surf Coast, Bellarine and Mornington Peninsula.

Bringing together the likes of Redro Redriguez & His Inner Demons, Green Blanket, Jelly Mammoth, Rennie & The Shitchair, Inked Factor, Sacramento Sweaters, Strange Unit, Shanty Tramp, Amba Fear, and Old El Parso, among others, the event aims to spread a message of hope and support, and most importantly, raising funds for those in need.

“This event will give us Victorians a chance to rally together as the supportive and loving community that we are, and do what we do best… put on a huge rock ’n roll show and raise bucket loads of money for those in need,” says Boss Brothers Entertainment’s Mitch Kaptain. Boss Brothers Entertainment is the music-inspired fundraising group that formed on the Bellarine back in 2009 to stage charity events. Its first event Fight Fire With Rock, raised more than $22,500 for victims of Victoria’s Black Saturday bushfires.

Alongside BBE’s Kaptain, B. Bookings’s Bridie Coughlin (renowned around town as Barwon Club’s venue booker) is behind the event, using her years of experience in curating some of this region’s best lineups and events to assist flood-affected communities through the power of music.
