There will be more than a few readers who have heard the term ’27 Club’, a reference to musicians who died at the age of 27.
Among the names, Robert Johnson, Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse are arguably the most famous. With music supplied by Third Stone Collision and Jeff Malapit, the life and legacy of the ’27 Club’ will be honoured at Geelong’s Black Hatt Hotel on June 11 – from a trip down memory lane with The Doors, to hidden Amy Winehouse gems.
Those who rock up are encouraged to dig out their old threads for the occasion. I suggest a green cardigan. Come on down and help honour some of music’s greats.
