Re-watch The Great Gatsby for some outfit inspiration.

The Roaring 20s are coming back to Queenscliff this March.

Well Old Sport, it’s time for you to dust off your Tommy Gun and party like it’s 1925 because there’s a fabulous Gangsters and Dames Ball happening this March, thanks to Geelong’s famed 1920s Prohibition-style cocktail bar The 18th Amendment.

Gifting us all the Great Gatsby party we’re been dreaming of, the exclusive The Royal Queenscliff – a grand gateway to the seaside holiday town – will be the perfect venue as the beloved cocktail bar bring full 1920’s extravagance to the Bellarine.

With timeless classic interiors, opulent ground floor with an entrance foyer, restaurant, ballroom and bar and speak-easy style cellar, all you need to do is get ready to don your finest glitzy flapper attire and transport yourselves back in time to prohibition America—think Gatsby and art deco opulence.

As one’s to always encourage a good night filled with dining, drinking and dancing, this is a highly-anticipated event from the 18th Amendment Bar – a venture by Gorge Camorra that draws inspiration from the speakeasy movement from the 1920s and 30s, specifically named after the amendment of the United States Constitution that effectively started the prohibition of alcohol.

From unusual ingredients, including Camorra’s own range of liqueurs, to the hundreds of spirits behind the bar and the house-concocted barrel aged cocktails, 18th Amendment has been a unique addition to the Geelong bar scene since opening three years ago. The speakeasy has since celebrated cocktail culture while educating the consumer, presenting the classics with a contemporary twist.

Taking place on Saturday, March 12 from 7pm until 11pm, it’s going to be a real swing, burlesque and gangster extravaganza, encapsulated by dark suits, moneybags, cigars and pistols (fake of course) inspired by the Gatsby era.

Tickets are $100 per person and include delicious gourmet finger food, a full swing band to get y’all amongst all the action of the jazz age, and all-inclusive beer, wine and soft drinks package.

Tickets are limited though folks so don’t dilly dally. For more info, head over here
