The indie pop twins have long been advocates, but now they’ll officially be fighting for the rights of LGBTQ women under their new foundation.
The Tegan and Sara Foundation will focus on improving the “economic justice, health and representation for LGBTQ girls and women” as announced via their website.
The duo began building their foundation on their tour for Love You to Death, meeting activists, legislators, researchers, and non-profit organisations, as well as reading personal letters from LGBTQ members in their fanbase.
The announcement comes a few days after the reveal of Tegan and Sara’s 2017 Australasian tour, including an appearance at the Melbourne Zoo Twilight Series.
