Teesdale prepares for rhythms of Africa

The rhythms of Africa will descend on Teesdale for its annual twilight lantern parade and music festival – Live@Turtle Bend 2017 – featuring the seven-person Afrobeat group Alárìíyá, who will bring Afro-jazz, funky rhythms and a taste of Nigeria to the region for an evening of music, food and community.

Local primary school students will lead a lantern parade down the main street on Saturday November 11, while Alárìíyá and support act “The Tiny Giants” from Ocean Grove will set the beat at Teesdale’s unique Turtle Pavilion.

Live@Turtle Bend is for all ages, with free entry and great food and drink available. It will run from 5pm, Saturday Nov 11, at Turtle Bend Pavilion, Main Road, Teesdale.
