One of the food highlights of the year for Geelong is without a doubt, Tastes of Central Geelong.
Running from July 1-24, the event showcases some of the best the town has to offer while creating a number of specialty events and fun activities that pair food with something unusual.
A few highlights are the edible flower crown workshop at Smellies (various dates), the regional barista competition at the Workers Club (Saturday, July 17, “Meet the Maker” at Union Street Wine (July 7) and the Family Feud & Dinner at King George Fish & Grill (first round July 5).
Tastes has also enlisted the help of Channel 10 Everyday Gourmet star, Justine Schofield, as well as host and GT editor Kylie Oliver for an afternoon tea at the Pier in Geelong on July 16.
A first for 2016 also sees the Eat Street events which span across three Friday nights on Little Malop street, combining good food, a great atmosphere and live music. The venues on board are Pistol Petes, The Workers Club, Caruggi, Cartel and Geelong Cellar Door.
