Heading back to the serene surrounds of Churchill Island, just off Phillip Island on Saturday, December 10, the festival is part of the ALWAYS LIVE program, a new state-wide celebration of contemporary live music supported by the Victorian Government through Visit Victoria.

This will be the fourth iteration of the family-friendly, music-lovers all-day sunset concert, and will see the space filled to the brim with picnic rugs, smiling friends, stunning local wines, gourmet food vans, cheeses, the summer sun softly setting over the ocean and some of Australia’s most amazing live music once more.

The festival appearance from Sultana, the gender-fluid multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, producer and engineer, has been flagged as being her only Victorian show for 2022 and is not to be missed. Dubbed one of the hardest working music exports in Australia, Sultana’s refusal to conform to normal society pushed the young artist onto the streets of Melbourne to busk, where they harnessed crowd-stopping performances on Melbourne’s famous ‘Bourke Street’.

From there a viral bedroom recording of ‘Jungle’ in 2016 skyrocketed the artist off the street and in front of the world. Since then Tash has broken attendance records on non-stop across sold-out global arena tours, their accolades rush in faster than there is time to count them. In 2019 alone, Tash sold over half a million tickets across the globe. Their second album #1 ARIA charting ‘TERRA FIRMA’ arrives three years after ARIA-winning debut album FLOW STATE – which spawned multiple platinum and gold singles as well as the 2x Platinum single ‘Jungle’ and the Platinum-selling single ‘Mystik’ – as well as accumulating over one billion worldwide streams.

Joining Tash Sultana on the lineup are Melbourne folk/rock duo Pierce Brothers, esteemed live roots artist Kim Churchill, and Kuku Yalanji, Jirrbal and Badu Island songbird Kee’ahn, with more to be announced.

Ocean Sounds Festival takes place on Saturday, December 10, 2022. Tickets go on sale Wednesday March 16, 2022. More info here.
