If vintage is your vibe, but surf and skatewear rules your heart, look no further.
Update: The pop-up is in its final days and will close on January 29th. Open 10am-4pm everyday.
With retro fashion trends gracing the catwalk the past few years, the resurfacing of mullets and roller skating taking the country by storm, it’s clear the 80s and 90s are having an epic resurgence.
If you’ve been contemplating trying the trend out for size, the time is now, with a massive 80s and 90s-inspired pop-up surfacing in Torquay.
Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around the region here.
Opened by Torquay local Michael Bennett, the pop-up has transformed the previous Torquay Tackle & Sports shop into an absolute vintage treasure trove with a psychedelic colour palette.
A glory of not only retro clothes, but retro vibes as well, you’ll find surf and skate threads and accessories from the 80s and 90s – all in brand-new condition.
From jackets, sweatshirts, bikinis, and tees to corduroy pants, bright coloured shorts and duffle bags, some of the items here are incredibly rare finds still with the tags on. Sorry bargain hunters; real vintage fashion that’s never been worn is going to cost more than spare change.
If there ever was a time to pack your reusable bags, slip on your Birks and head to the coast, it’s now.
The pop-up is open Thursday through to Sunday.
Find it at Surf City Plaza, 73 Beach Road, Torquay (Behind Subway).
