A jagged, genre-hopping collection that showcases the trio’s signature blend of surf, psych, garage and grit - Stagger arrives today.
Described by the band as a “patchwork of different sounds”, Stagger leans into the unexpected. Rather than sticking to one sonic lane, the album shifts, bends and swerves — each track revealing a new facet of The Grogans’ musical DNA.

And they’re not kidding. From the moment opening track Oh Boy bursts out with its instantly memorable chorus, the tone is set: high energy, heartfelt, and just a little rough around the edges — in the best possible way. That leads into Come Up (Goes Down), a full-tilt powerhouse, before the mood pivots to the gentle sway of In My Heart, which marks one of the band’s most mellow moments to date.
Later in the record, tracks like Have a Little Dream and Once In A While embrace atmospheric textures and wide-open soundscapes, while Roll Back and Roundabout introduce new sonic effects that hint at the band’s ever-evolving ambitions.
The Grogans also dive deep lyrically. Across the album, themes of mental health, self-care, connection, and the realities of touring life surface — most notably on the final track, All My Days, which captures both the exhilaration and exhaustion of life on the road. Meanwhile, Happier Man stands out as a psych-rock highlight with a hopeful message: “striving to be a better and happier person should be a goal for everyone.”
There’s also plenty of fun to be had — like the ironically upbeat Worry About Everything, which dares you to feel light even when the world feels heavy.
With Stagger, The Grogans continue to prove why they’re one of the most exciting and genuinely joyful live acts in Australia today. Their commitment to crafting varied, emotionally resonant music and their palpable love for playing together shines through every riff, lyric, and offbeat twist this record throws your way.
