Support local and shop small at this Pakington Street café’s pop-up night market

When you purchase from small businesses and makers, you’re supporting real people day to day.

COVID wasn’t much fun for anyone, but the past 12 months have hit a few industries particularly hard, seriously messing with our local creatives and small businesses usual day-to-day operations.

Now the Geelong is pretty much back in full swing, Blank Space Café have given us yet another reason to adore them with their very first pop-up night market.

Kicking off from 6pm tomorrow night, Friday, March 5, the team at Blank Space have invited a selection of amazing local businesses and talented creatives, including many of those who don’t have their own bricks and mortar stores.

You’ll find gorgeous coconut soy wax candles and candle lamps from Mt Macedon business Le Lueur, mouth-watering, sugar-filled treats from Sweet Coast Cupcakes, a stunning collection of bikinis, clothing and accessories from Geelong-born clothing company Pine, ethically sourced lingerie from Madame Dahlia (and maybe they’re Borosilicate glass pleasure items if you’re lucky!), natural skincare products from Henry & Lexi, adorable hair ties from Ribbonties, handwoven macrame from Woven Jungle, as well as artworks from local visual artist Abby Lee.

A real highlight will be the arrival of Geelong-based green thumbs ‘Plant Addicts Anonymous’, who are packing the truck and bringing their indoor-plant party to Newtown. Renowned for running pop-up indoor plant sales, Plant Addicts Anonymous will be hosting a mini-plant sale inside Blank Space. At the sale, we expect you’ll find dozens of lush, desirable plants, potentially including the likes of fiddle leaf figs, devils ivy, alocasia, mother in law’s tongue, string of pearls, Bangalow palms, kentia palms, a range of ferns, hanging plants and more.

Showcasing all the best artwork and handmade goodies from local creatives in the region, the market will also feature Blank Space’s entire cocktail and drinks list alongside a soundtrack provided by Australian producer KUNE (AKA Ashley Young).

Shop local at Blank Space (4/343 Pakington Street, Newtown) from 6pm on Friday, March 5.
