Discover the magic of Geelong's own Museum after hours through the adults only Sunset Series.

Bringing together some of life’s greatest pleasures – art, music and delicious food and drinks – Sunset Series is the new event taking to the National Wool Museum this month.

Taking cues from NGV’s Friday Nights, Melbourne’s favourite cultural conclusion to the working week, Sunset Series gives locals the chance to discover the magic of Geelong’s own Museum after hours through the new adults-only event on Thursday, July 21.

Brighten your day with all the latest art news via our website.

The vibe-filled evenings will grant exclusive access to Realm by Laura Alice, music by local jazz band Final Final, cocktails by The Chamber of Gin and grazing platters by Black Sheep Geelong, allowing guests to truly discover the museum space.

Running until the end of the month, ‘REALM’ is the stunning installation by award-winning Geelong-based artist Laura Alice, blending street art with augmented reality, sensory play, projection and a giant glowing colouring wall. It’s got a magical, ethereal vibe that promises to ignite all your senses.

A Prismatic and playful space imbued with mystery and mysticism within the walls of one of Geelong’s most renowned arts venues, ‘REALM’ is part playscape, part living, breathing artwork.

The sunset series gives guests a chance to meet with Laura, and join her in creating a new artwork during the evening – no artistic experience required!

Alongside the art, the museum will come alive after dark with the eclectic sounds of jazz from Geelong’s Final Final, a 3-piece band performing world music, for the end of the world. Cinematic bebop and aggressive pleasantries, accentuated with bass-drenched darkness and intricate, rhythmic polarities. All held afloat by the unholiest of woodwind accompanies. Final Final.

As guests roll into the museum, they’ll be treated to a Realm Cocktail by The Chamber of Gin, alongside grazing platters to share (suitable for 2 people)and drinks at bar prices in The Lounge (please note, grazing platters are pre-order only).

Next door, Black Sheep Geelong will be also open so book a table online if you feel like extending your evening.

Tickets are $30, but grab your tickets sooner rather than later because this will get booked out before you know it.

It all goes down on Thursday, July 21 from 5pm. Find out more here
