Keep up with the latest food and booze news via our website.

Launching early this month in both Geelong and Ballarat, the approachable yet refined menu features local-first dishes that hero some of our region’s finest seasonal produce and native ingredients from across the state.

To start, taste your way through some Kalamata olives, Persian style sheep feta, or pea and mint arancini. There’s even some pretty tasty grilled chorizo and Jamon Serrano (aka Spanish ham) that will get your mouth watering for the offerings to come.

While the starters are delicious, Piano Bar’s tapas is the hero of any night, celebrating small plates which can be mixed and matched.

Choose from the indulgent halloumi, the flash-fried squid, or the delectable chickpea, zucchini and feta fritters, or treat yourself to the most delicious spiced Italian meatballs outside of Europe. If you really feel like lashing out, we 110 per cent recommend the crispy skin pork belly, with comes complete with a chilli orange glaze and celery puree, or the Chicken goujons with jalapeño mayo and slaw.

If you’re looking for a plant-based menu, the PB team have you covered with a range of delicious vegan options, including delicate roast cauliflower with hummus and dukkah, a generous grilled Mediterranean veggie stack, crunchy potato cubes, and warm Turkish bread with hummus and pistachio dukkah. There’s even a delicious cabbage, pea and fresh mint salad which can be made vegan, and a whole lot of the menu is gluten-free too.

If you manage to save room for an after-dinner snack, the antipasto board is a must with a selection of fine meats, cheeses and accompaniments.

Pro tip: there are no wrong choices.

It might not be the first place that comes to mind when you’re leaving the office at 6:45pm and your keen to make some dinner plans, but Piano Bar promises to not only delight your stomach, but also provide an immersive dining experience like none other – complete with the singalongs, the requests, the drags queens, and the piano right. Plus, it’s right in the heart of Geelong.

What’s not to love about that?

Piano Bar is located 90-92 Little Malop St, Geelong and is open Wednesday to Sunday from 6pm. You can check out the menu here and book your spot here.
