Strung Out Is Coming to Town

As you may have heard from the cool kids, Southern Californian punksters Strung Out will be heading to our shores shortly. Strung Out formed out of Simi Valley, situated around 50 kilometres from Downtown Los Angeles, in 1989.

After becoming one of the first bands to sign with Fat Wreck Chords, they marked their arrival with 1994’s Another Day in Paradise. 2015’s Transmission.Alpha.Delta is their eighth studio album and most recent release.

It has been a good six years since the band’s last album, but as founding member and frontman Jason Cruz shared with FWC, there was a reason for the delay: “You get to a point where you decide if you’re going to go on or stop. Everyone kind of just lived life for a little bit. I think that’s pretty important if you consider yourself a songwriter or an artist of any kind. You have to live and experience other things in your life to have something to write about, to give value to what you’re singing about … I think we created a journey from where each song begins to where the song ends are two completely different places.”
