Strange Unit’s self-titled album is a journey into the world of Psychedelic metal

Selling something different than just your typical sounds, strange units self-titled album brings a mixture of heavy riffs, screaming vocals and plenty of psychedelic sounds. Not for the faint of heart Scott Lee Andrews (Of Exit International) Strange Unit is a journey into the world of Psychedelic metal.

While not without its faults, strange unit dares to be different – finding its way with an overwhelming sense of exuberance, criticisms of the current state of things. From beginning to end what was really impressive was the high quality of heavy guitar riffs from track to track, embracing some old school sounds that were a pleasure to hear.

Strange Unit is certainly not for everyone, utilizing multiple layers of sound at any one moment – some would suggest that there is simply too much going on – that a little simplification may go a long way. Heavily distorted industrial sounds and hard to hear vocals may also turn off the listener, but I can’t help but feel that most of that Scott intended. A sound he desired.

It’s not easy to create art in an extremely niche market but If heavy industrial psychedelic metal is a genre of music that sounds interesting to you, Strange Units self-titled album may Impress you.
