Sri Lankan Pop Up Nights are coming to the Geelong region showcasing authentic dishes and local beers

Traditional Sri Lankan cuisine is heading to the Coast this winter.

It’s time to do as Sri Lankans do and get as many curries, sambals and spicy extras on your plate of rice as possible with a brand new night dedicated to the delicious cuisine coming to the region.

Taking to Torquay’s beloved Blackman’s Brewery, the new Sri Lankan pop up nights is all about gifting locals something new – and utterly delicious – to experience in the cooler months.

Keep up with the latest food and booze news across the region here.

Blackman’s Brewery’s epic chef will be popping up on Thursday’s in July to cook authentic Sri Lankan Cuisine, delivering the best possible ‘home style’ cooking which Sri Lankans, and those familiar with Sri Lankan food, can relate to.

For $35 per person, hungry locals and tourists alike can indulge in three mouthwatering courses with the option of beer pairings if you please.

So what’s on the menu?

For the first night on July 14, indulge in Crispy potato cutlets & mini fish pan roll for entree (Vegetarian, vegan and dairy-free option available), Black chicken curry with Basmati rice pilaf for a main, served with Sri Lankan creamy cashew curry, Tempered spicy potatoes and poppadoms (Gluten free, vegetarian, vegan and dairy free options available), and for dessert, Cardamom spiced Watalappan.

If you’re not into the set menu, you can also order single dishes. Blackman’s usual famed pizza menu won’t be available on the Sri Lankan pop up nights.

Bookings are essential, so get your crew together and lock it in.
