At The Heads

Located at the river mouth in Barwon Heads, At The Heads is arguably one of the Bellarine’s most unique dining experiences with its magnificent views, friendly and efficient staff, and of course a great menu.

This year they’ll be celebrating mother’s day with a sumptuous two-course set menu feast, featuring seafood and plenty of share style menu options, unbeatable views, loved ones and exceptional service for $75 pp ($25 for children under 12).

As for what to expect, you’ll get Cooked QLD Tiger Prawns, Beef Carpaccio, Salmon Crudo, and Heirloom Tomato & Drysdale Goats Feta to share, alongside your choice of a main dish. Choose from Cornfed Chicken Breast, Portarlington Mussels, Humptydoo Barramundi, Black Angus Tri-Tip Steak or Spiced Pumpkin Wedge, then indulge in a selection of sides including Twice Cooked Potato and Green Bean & Edamame Salad. Winters Cafe Breakfast Box

Oh my platter. Winters Cafe have well and truly outdone themselves with their offerings over the past year, and lucky for us, they’ve decided to whip up a pack for Mother’s Day.

Offering the ultimate brekky spread, this one is perfect for the whole family with smoked salmon bagels, ham & cheese croissants, panacotta, waffles with chocolate sauce, and house baked muesli with berry yoghurt.

Box for 2 is $70 and a box for 4 is $130. They must be picked up on Saturday, ready to heat and serve for Sunday.

Piano Bar Geelong

Show the mother figure in your life just how special they are at Piano Bar’s annual Mother’s Day brunch. Running from 1pm to 5pm, your ticket includes an afternoon of entertainment from the amazing pianists and vocalists plus delicious brunch favourites and a glass of sparkling or mimosa for each adult or a free soft drink for those 16 and under. 18th Amendment Bar Queenscliff High Tea

Having just planted its feet firmly in Queenscliff, Geelong’s famed 1920s Prohibition-style cocktail bar The 18th Amendment is wasting no time in levelling up our experiences on the Bellarine – and lucky for Mum, that involves hosting a high tea this Mother’s Day.

We can’t really think of a better way to spend mothers day than with loved ones and decadent drinks and scrumptious snacks provided by the 18th Amendment Bar and The Royal Caterer.

Tickets are $100, which include a selection of tea sandwiches, savoury bites and sweet treats with will be paired with a selection of drinks designed by the team behind the 18th Amendment Bar.

In this class, you will learn how to paint an abstract portrait of each other to keep as a treasured gift. Scotchman’s Hill

With the sun still peeking through the trees or amongst the cool of the mid-afternoon breeze, delightful sunny days, clear nights, and the occasional shower of rain, Autumn weekends are made for a trip to a winery… especially for Mother’s Day.

Luckily we’ve got Scotchmans Hill, a leading local winery in the heart of the Bellarine Peninsula that has been producing cool climate wines since 1982 and rated among James Halliday’s Top 100 Australian Wineries, which is running a special three-course day of dining, just for mum.

To start you’ll get a Local Produce Platter with Barwon Valley Pork Terrine, Cognac Pate, Smoked Chicken, House Marinated Olives, Pickle Vegetables, Drysdale Goats Cheese and Little Wings Sourdough; while mains will feature Dijon and Maple Glazed Pork Shoulder with Caramelized Fennel and Chicken Involtini with Shultz herbed Quark and Pancetta on Soft Polenta.

Sides include Rosemary Roasted Kipflers and Roquette, Pear, Walnut and Cranberry Salad, while dessert will come as Petit Fours.

Van Loons Café is renowned for serving up a high tea experience like no other. Picture mini quiches, sandwiches, scones, macarons and a selection of sweet cakes and tarts there is sure to be something for everyone.

For Mother’s Day, the beloved cafe is celebrated with a couple of special high tea options.

For early risers, there’s a Brunch High Tea at 8am for $50pp drinks and food included, OR Breakfast Menu; and from 9:45am there’s a Brunch High Tea $70pp drinks and food included.

The 12pm classic high tea is currently booked out, but there’s also a 2:30pm Classic High Tea for $70pp drinks and food included.

McKillop Street Enoteca at Local

Defined as a wine bar and casual eatery designed for sharing, Enoteca, brought to us by Local, brings a relaxed atmosphere and a list of local wines for people to indulge in, as well as a selection of local produce presented in an extensive set menu. Ben Mclachlan from Local describes the tastes at Local’s Enoteca to be simple, following classic combinations and utilising seasonal ingredients from as close to home as possible, with their passion as to support small businesses and families from around the region.

For Mother’s Day, the beloved pop-up with be putting on a chefs tasting menu, featuring house marinated olives, Milawa blue cheese croquettes, mussels, Stracciatella, as well as chicken and garlic butter, broccoli with almond and fried shallots and potato, garlic and rosemary gratin. For dessert, a sticky date with creme fraiche.

Anh Chi Em

Show mum just how much you love her this Mother’s Day with some delicious Vietnamese cuisine! Still relatively new on the local dining scene, Anh Chi Em not only lives up to authentic Southeast Asian standards but goes above and beyond the traditional Geelong standard for cultural dining.

With vibrant eats, treat mum with a delicious Anh Chi Em set menu to either take home or dine in on the special day. For $49 per person, you can get crispy salt and pepper quail, Bo Koh with steamed rice and toasted bread, and banana and coconut pudding for dessert.

Making cookies that will impress absolutely everyone you know, Geelong’s very own Jacqui of ‘Cookies By Qui’ has been creating premium custom cookies for all life’s special moments since 2017, with over a decade of cookie decorating experience. A home-based business with a fully registered kitchen, this local baking sensation is earning herself a solid reputation for the amount of detail she puts into her little creations. We’ve had to double take on quite a few of her posts of late because they are that realistic – and people are loving it!

Known around town (well Australia) as the very first cheese train, Splatters has long been on our radar, going from food truck to one of Geelong’s favourite online grazing stores, to an Australian first, all in a couple of years.

Providing a mix of sweet and savoury elements and a variety of textures coming together, Splatter cheese platters (a splatterbox!) have a little something for everyone and Mum will adore it.

The Fork N Flower café is located at the Geelong Flower Farm, 15 minutes from Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula. With views into the Flower Farm store, diners can enjoy the beautiful flowers and giftware available.

That Place Patisserie

The crew at The Food Purveyor love sourcing delicious produce and packing it into Gift Hampers, packed right here in Geelong.

With a number of hampers to choose from, they’ve curated some very special packs that mum will love, ranging from $25 through to $125. You can get your hands on the I Love You with red wine hamper, My Love Loves Gin Hamper, or go all out with The Eat, Sleep, GIN, Repeat Hamper, which is packed with Great Ocean Road gin, tonic, dehydrated citrus, chocolate-coated pretzels, smoked honey almonds, olives, Turkish Delight, Smoked salt caramel fudge and apple slices. Mr Grubb at Oakdene Estate

The Mr Grubb @ Oakdene bistro is located at the magnificent Oakdene Vineyards property on the Bellarine Peninsula, just 20 minutes from Geelong.

For Mother’s Day, Mr Grubb is running lunch and dinner, offering a 3-course menu with a choice of three dishes for each course. Lunch bookings from 12pm, dinner bookings from 5:30pm. Dishes include the likes of pulled pork croquettes, prawn cocktails, butternut pumpkin soup, barramundi fillet, roast duck breast, cannelloni, and sticky date pudding, amongst others.

$80 per person while children dining under the age of 12 will be able to dine from our 2-Course children’s menu at $20 each.
