Something Krook & Icky Sticks

Established since 1990, The Barwon Club Hotel has proved to be Geelong’s leading venue for live bands. They were at the crux of the Geelong ’90s rock scene, and they’ve gone from strength to strength ever since, providing G-town with a steady flow of live bands, cold beer and wild stories… that was until the cheeky COVID-19 messed with their usual day to day operations, forcing the cancellation of all their scheduled gigs for the past five months.

Now, with restrictions easing enough to allow a hint of normality back into the lives of regional Victoria, the BC have announced their first lot of live gigs.

Kicking it off with four-piece grunge rockers Something Krook with support from local psych rockers Icky Sticks on Saturday August 1, the BC will be running two shows, with an early show at 6pm and a later show at 9pm.

There are only 20 pre-sale seated tickets sold per show, and tickets are $20 each via Oztix only. Group tickets can be purchased but there will be a maximum of five people per table.

In line with the current regulations, 1.5m social distancing will apply within the venue, hand sanitising stations will be set up around the band room, and full names and phone numbers of all patrons must be logged upon entry. In accordance with the current government restrictions, those living in the Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire areas will be denied entry.

They say the early bird catches the worm, but in this case the venue has requested punters do not arrive earlier than door times.
