The region is pumped full of new homewares, gourmet produce, clothing, accessories and gifts galore.

Regional towns have some of the best and finest small businesses that shine a light on local creators and fresh produce. There’s nothing better than spending some money supporting a local producer, who makes their stuff fairly, unlike the unfair production standards that many big department stores follow. 

Clothing shops, Cafés, Homeware Shops and Butchers are some of the top places tourists love to visit in regional towns. 

Today we’re diving into some of Geelong’s best regional businesses that are assuredly worth a journey to. 

Ampersand

If you love kind-knacks and trinkets, Ampersand is a spot you need to head to. With a bunch of wall art of all different shapes, sizes, and budgets, you’ll definitely find something up your alley. 

Much of the store is full of stock from local Geelong creators, that really make a visit to Ampersand one that you’ll remember. It’s slowly become one of Geelong’s best spots for getting the freshest homewares, vintage wall features, and modern art.

Goose 

This is a shop you won’t feel bad about spending hours in. It’s full of cool stuff, it’s a mecca for gifts, clothes and homewares. It’s been in the heart of East Geelong since back in 96,’ and they’ve just been getting better and better. 

Goose has fast become a spot tourists travel to Geelong for, to find the ideal gift, find something original, or just for a shop you can’t get at home. 

They feature a bunch of up and coming producers and designers that’ll make you feel good about spending a lot of money here. proudly showcasing pieces we love and that stand out from the crowd.

It’s vintage shop galore at Bellerine Collections. It’s full of absolutely anything and everything, you’re bound to find something you need. Just to name a few, they’ve said their shop is the spot for;  “vintage, retro, antiques, collectables, jewellery, artworks, the interesting and unusual.”

To be more specific, they’ve got a bunch of gifts for all, like aussie made books, local art, retro clothes, and homewares. A visit here shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg too.

Metropolis Art

Not really small shop, but a small Geelong business you should support is Metropolis Art. Part Gallery and part shop, you could definitely spend a day here. 

They feature a bunch of amazing local artists from far and wide, from a variety of different backgrounds. You can even buy some artwork online too.

Quirk Collective 

Geelong West’s Quirk Collective is yet another shop that has something for every type of person. They’ve got a bevy of stock from local creators and designers who create their stuff ethically, which beats shopping at a big department store. 

Quirk Collective only opened back in 2012, but have become one of Geelong and Victoria’s top shopping spots. You can also browse and buy some of their unique items on their awesome online store, shipping’s only $10 too!

The Amazing Mill Markets 

This Aptly titled collection of shops is worth of a journey too from anywhere in Australia. Geelong business titan Mark Ward owns the markets across Ballarat, Daylesford, and of course Geelong. 

Spread across almost 3 acres, you could spend days here and still won’t make a mark. It’s a bargain hunters haven with all the classic market stalls; books, vinyl, clothes, jewellery, and even a bunch of awesome Australiana. The markets have hundreds of stall holders, with new stallholders entering the markets across Victoria on a regular basis.

Each of the Amazing Mill Markets’ location also has an awesome food and drink court, where you will find some of the best local food.
