The local branch of a global movement bringing music and people together, returns this May.
Making a name for itself by staging secret gigs and intimate concerts, Sofar Sounds has brought music and people together for over ten years across more than 400 cities in 78 countries around the world, including throughout Australia in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast; expanding to Geelong in late 2023.
Sofar Sounds Geelong’s own Rach Brennan says she is so happy to be reconnecting with our Sofar community.

“After a little Aus-wide hiatus we are coming back with the same intimate and specially curated shows but looking at scaling back to a few very special gigs dotted throughout the year.”
“After presenting 27 shows across Geelong and the Surf Coast in 2024 I am so excited to continue collaborating with locals (like Forte!), welcoming artists, venues and creatives into the Sofar world to develop unmissable shows for our dedicated and passionate audience.
“Geelong is brimming with talented artists and there are still so many we’ve yet to showcase – the same goes for venues. Expect house concerts, touring acts, album launches, secret venues, all-ages events and lots of fairy lights.”
While Sofar has undergone internal restructuring in Australia the shows and intention remain unchanged. The key difference is a shift towards a more locally driven model.
“Attending Sofar Geelong events directly supports both the artists, venues and the local production team, which means we can invest in more events.” says Rach.
“We finished on such a high last year and I’m so proud of what we’ve built with the community. Torquay is our most sold-out neighbourhood so it only made sense to celebrate our first gig back on the Surf Coast.
“Tickets are selling fast and shows for 2025 will be limited. We rely on pre-sale, so please get in early.”
