Nestled in the heart of the ‘Valentine Hills’ property in Lochsport, this tiny house was designed and built from scratch. The home is 1 bedroom, fully equipped with all the essentials; hot water, shower, toilet, kitchen TV, and Fridge, and it’s all off-grid! While you’re here, you can travel through the farm and see some beautiful animals, and pick some veggies for an ‘off the grid’ dinner.

Lighthouse Lodge
Now this is pretty bloody cool – you can stay in a lighthouse! Travel to the ornate Cape Otway Lightstation and discover a different type of relaxation, away from everybody else. The major selling point is the view – you can see across the ocean for miles upon miles. Located only a short drive from Apollo Bay and the 12 Apostles, this is the ideal spot for a getaway this summer.

The Upstairs At Petticoat Creek
If it’s the weird and wonderful you like, ‘The Upstairs’ is the spot for you. The different – looking accom is located a stone’s throw out of Apollo Bay, which is great for those long beach days. But if you’re after those more relaxing summer benders, chill at the villa – it’s got all the goods; BBQ, wood fire, air conditioning, bathroom, kitchen and a Tv. There’s no need to go out!

You got 13 friends? Split this pretty exxy lodge 14 ways for a cheap taste of royalty. You’ll take in breathtaking views every morning with glass to ceiling windows, stunning architecture and classy European appliances. The A+ views will make a good addition to your morning coffee. Not too far from the Mornington Peninsula, it’s a great place to come home to after a long day of beachgoing.

In the winery – filled Red Hill region in the Mornington Peninsula, only an hour’s drive from Melbourne, you’ll find the Red Hill Yurt. The traditional Mongolian Yurt is nestled in a spectacular Sculpture garden full of flowers in bloom 24×7. With no TV, your nights will be spent birdwatching; the organic orchard close by is home to dozens of extraordinary birds, spend the days at the beach, only a quick drive away.

Alpenglow
Ever wanted to stay at a barn? In the popular country town of Mansfield, you’ll find an accommodating barn called ‘Alpenglow.’ Found on the owner’s 12-acre property, this spot if good for people year-round, with it housing a pool for those sweltering summer days, and there’s snow falling in the area on those freezing winter nights. There’s a bunch to keep the kids interested too, DVD’s, games, and a massive lawn that’s great for kicking a ball.

Honourable Mention; Naringal Station
This one isn’t for the faint hearted, it’s literally like you’ve travelled to a mansion out of an old British spy novel. The homestead can house up to 16 people! It’s the perfect spot for the next family reunion, you could go days before seeing anyone else. The estate is ideal for the summer getaways, with a pool that you’ll never want to get out of, and a drawing room that gets the afternoon sun.
