Shades of Lanie Lane

Before hitting the terrible teens, Lanie Lane was taught the basics of guitar by her brother and old man, before finding her own voice. In 2011, the Sydneysider released her debut album, To the Horses, within an 18month period of gold.

She signed with Ivy League Records, played sold out national tours, made trips to the US and UK and won FBi Radio’s SMAC Award for ‘Record of the Year’, The Age’s EG Award for ‘Best Female’ and the AIR Award for ‘Best Blues and Roots Record’. She also recorded a single in Nashville with one Jack White. In 2014 came her second album, Night Shade.

From her website: “Night Shade is a record with deep roots, exploring universal themes of internal strength, sensuality, light and dark, femininity and spirituality. It’s the sort of record that can only be written in solitude, inspired by the wild. It’s honest, personal and raw … Documenting Lanie’s personal and artistic journey, Night Shade marks a transition in her life, a time of bravery, adventure, honesty and inner growth. It’s the record she really wanted to make and it’s the record she really wants you to hear.” After spending the year touring the outback, Lanie is getting intimate with fans in 2016. Suttons House of Music, Ballarat – January 14.
