Sev Lah just dropped his fourth single for 2020 and it’s seriously good

Rock and roll delivered with swagger is such a buzz, and that’s what we get with every time Melbourne based Sev Lah drops a new track.

A relative newcomer to the music scene who you might recognise from Geelong’s The Pickers Union, Sev is back with his fourth single for 2020 ‘Caught On The Outside’.

Channelling Britpop and garage rock while pushing the genre into modern territory, the track begins with laid back vocals and the ring of an introductory tambourine. 40 seconds in and that’s where it all kicks off with tightly compressed drums, bright buzzing guitar riffs, and electrifying rock n roll energy. Sev’s confident, distinctively gritty vocals sit pretty at the forefront of the track with a memorable melody that you’ll have in your head long after the song’s finished.

Featuring meticulous production from prominent producer Darren Hart of Harts, this track sees Sev flexing his songwriting muscles more than ever, walking the line with his mid-90’s influences worn proudly on his sleeve.

In what would be a juicy fit for a mid afternoon festival set, ‘Caught On The Outside’ follows previously released tracks ‘Free My Soul’ (his debut), ‘The Revolution’ and most recently ‘Coming Around Again’. With his idealistic energy and stadium-sized hooks, it’s clear Sev’s forthcoming debut album is going to be rocky, confident, and full of earworms.

With songs this good, you’d think Sev’s been around the block a few times. Check it out below.
