Seth Sentry announces This Was Tomorrow 10 Year Anniversary Australian Tour

Seth Sentry will celebrate his genre-defining, ARIA Gold album with just two Victorian shows in Torquay and Northcote.

10 years ago, Melbourne MC Seth Sentry released his debut album This Was Tomorrow, a groundbreaking and utterly relatable hip-hop masterpiece.

Released in September 2012 completely independently and through his own label High Score Records, peaking at number 6 on the ARIA Charts, the album saw Seth Sentry looking at society and his place in it, creating a picture of someone that is full of all the same emotions, concerns and issues are everybody else.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

Hailed a triumph and easily one of Australia’s finest hip hop releases in 2012, the months following the album’s release saw the MC’s career soar, selling out Australian tours, to AIR Award wins, ARIA nominations, becoming the first Australian rapper to perform on US late night TV when he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and of course achieving gold status for the debut.

Despite it being 10 years since this genre-defining, ARIA Gold album dropped, the album itself is still as fresh as it was on September 14 2012, when it introduced the world to one of the greatest Emcees Australia has ever known.

Over the course of the last decade, which has seemingly passed in the blink of an eye, This Was Tomorrow has lost neither its impact nor its relevance… particularly for those of us still waiting patiently for a goddamn hoverboard.

Now to celebrate this milestone, Seth is taking his band, as well as his Twitch streaming universe on tour around the country this September. Playing old and new faves, plus a host of special tunes from This Was Tomorrow.

Kicking off on September 16 at the Torquay Hotel in Torquay, Seth Sentry will then head to Northcote Theatre in Northcote VIC, Prince of Wales Hotel in Bunbury WA, Metropolis in Fremantle WA, The Triffid in Brisbane QLD, and Cambridge Hotel in Newcastle NSW before finishing up at The Metro in Sydney on October 1.

Torquay and Northcote will be Seth Sentry’s only Victorian tour dates. Joining the hip hop artist will be special guests Queen P, Boy Soda (except WA) and Kodi Cunningham (WA shows only).
