There is something truly special about drinking a beer right where it was made, and this is a place to do exactly that.
Officially opening to the public last month, Aunty Jacks will be the place to go for craft beer, delicious food, and hands-on experiences in the humble town of Ballarat.
Located on Mair Street next to fellow newcomer Ragazzone, Aunty Jacks is a collaboration between Ballarat’s famed Hop Temple and the Australian Craft Beer Centre of Excellence project, and has been created with the core value of celebrating the artisan craft of brewing, sustainable agriculture and a taste that is uniquely Ballarat.
Operating as a brewpub, the impressive venue will produce around 100,000 litres of beer on site each year – including lager, pale ale, stouts and seasonal specials, all of which you’ll be able to watch been made as well as taste on site.
Alongside the drinks, they’ll be offering tasty nibbles and one hell of a brewery atmosphere for punters to settle in for an afternoon. There will also be a tonne of options for non-beer drinkers too.
It won’t be just about food and drink here either. Aunty Jacks’ calendar of events will include in-house education classes, beer dinners, live music and functions.
It’s been a long time in the making for this regional venue, with planning documents initially submitted to the Ballarat council back in November of 2019.
Formerly the showroom, office and warehouse for Ballarat Blinds and Curtains, the venue has undergone a stunning transformation, turning the haggard building into a prime drinking and events destination.
Currently Aunty Jacks is taking reservations for Wednesday through to Sunday for two-hour seatings. They’ll be open from 4pm on weekdays and 12pm on the weekends. To book, DM them on socials or email [email protected]
