Presented by Double J, Collective Artists and Destroy All Lines, the I Just Need To Conquer This Mountain tour is a return for Sarah Blasko’s solo career. A celebrated career that includes six solo studio albums, Depth of Field (2018), Eternal Return (2015), I Awake (2012), As Day Follows Night (2009), What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have (2006) and The Overture & the Underscore (2004), and two albums with Holly Throsby and Sally Seltmann as Seeker Lover Keeper – Seeker, Lover, Keeper (2011) and Wild Seeds (2019) – Blasko will pull into all crevasses of her catalogue, as well as conquer her latest album.

Today also marks the release of Sarah Blasko’s second lead single from the album, ‘Bothering Me’, a track that looks are dreaming – both those of unconscious concoction and those of conscious aspiration.

Together with the album’s first single ‘The Way’, ‘Bothering Me’ sets the scene for I Just Need To Conquer This Mountain as an album of late night reflections on goodbyes, grief, new beginnings and an important friendship that underpinned her childhood. It was recorded at Rancom Street Studios in Eora/Sydney with engineer Brent Clark, produced by Sarah Blasko and mixed by Kenny Gilmore (Weyes Blood, Julia Holter, Ariel Pink), and marked a new approach to writing and recording from that of her earlier records: “This album was probably the most relaxed and free feeling record I’ve made,” Sarah Blasko shares.

Tickets to Sarah Blasko’s album tour across Qld, NSW, SA and WA – in addition to the already announced VIC shows as part of Always Live – backed by her live band are on sale 9am local this Thursday 29 August. Purchase them here. Presave or Preorder I Just Need To Conquer This Mountain here.
