OK Motels returns to Charlton Motel in Victoria’s north-west, showcasing some of Melbourne’s best musicians.

OK Motels, who alongside being one of our favourite-ever Instagram accounts documenting rural motels from around Australia, returns to rural Victoria this October for its epic music event as part of Victoria’s newest major event, Always Live.

Embracing a nostalgic fixation with ’70s-style accommodation and sheer love of supporting live Australian music, Ok Motels pulls together some of the best Melbourne bands and brings them to retro motels around the state where people were encouraged to party like it’s 1970.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

Originally home to netball presentations nights and deb balls, the Charlton Motel will come alive once again for an entire weekend with the incandescent and spectacular live phenomenon of Cash Savage and the Last Drinks, who will be joined by The Frowning Clouds, Nice Biscuit, Elizabeth, Vintage Crop, Bad Bangs, Skyscraper Stan, Various Asses, KINO MOTEL, Baby Cool, ENOLA, and K5Band.

The special Always Live edition will take place over the whole weekend, from Friday, October 28 through to Sunday, October 30.

Tickets are selling fast at $161 for general admission for the weekend, including Friday and Saturday night at the Charlton Motel. The tickets combined with rooms at the Charlton Motel have been booked, but there’s also camping tickets available which secures you a spot right in the centre of town next to the iconic East Charlton Hotel. There’s also plenty of other accommodation in the area for you to find a place to rest.

Leave your everyday life down the highway, and come together to experience something familiar somewhere unfamiliar. It all goes down in Charlton from Friday, October 28 to Sunday, October 30 2023.
