Robbie Williams adds second Melbourne show to relive iconic 1998 BRIT Awards performance

Williams has added a second performance in Australia to celebrate the filming of his biopic 'Better Man'.

British pop superstar Robbie Williams will now be performing two exclusive performances in Australia this year following overwhelming demand for ‘An Exclusive Evening With Robbie Williams’.

With the Saturday, April 30 show in Melbourne selling out, producers of the Better Man biopic, Frontier Touring and Chugg Entertainment have announced an additional show at Rod Laver Arena Melbourne on Sunday 1 May 2022.

In ‘An Evening with Robbie Williams’, ticket holders will be treated to one hour of Robbie’s greatest hits, followed by an interview hosted by Richard Wilkins. The UK superstar will share stories of his life and – along with a guest spokesperson from the film company – offer audience members an exclusive insight into how this will translate into the forthcoming film, Better Man.

This special evening will include a re-enactment of Robbie’s famous 1998 BRIT Awards performance (sorry, Tom Jones will not be joining Robbie on stage this time!) with Rod Laver Arena dressed as the inaugural awards ceremony set. Select performances from the night will be filmed for inclusion in the biopic, so fans are encouraged to come dressed in their best 90’s concert wear, as the Better Man movie throws back to the story of Robbie’s life and some of the biggest concert moments of his career.

The film in question, directed and co-written by The Greatest Showman’s Michael Gracey and with Williams in the title role, will offer an introspective look into the experiences that shaped Williams, both on and off stage, exploring the experiences that made him who he is, and the demons he battled.

Williams joined Take That in 1990 at only 16, and more than 30 years later has achieved a total of 18 Brit Awards. Williams’ writing, recording and performances have set him apart in making a lasting impact on British culture, recognising the very highest level of British musical achievement.

From his breakthrough global smash hit ‘Angels’, through to pop anthems ‘Let Me Entertain You’, ‘Millennium’, ‘Come Undone’, ‘Kids’, ‘Feel’, ‘Rock DJ’, and more, Robbie Williams’ unparalleled catalogue is a career-defining generational soundtrack – and this film will be a behind the scenes look at it all.

Williams’ exclusive Melbourne performances come two years after Williams was forced to cancel his Australian tour due to the pandemic. Don’t miss out on your chance to be part of ‘An Exclusive Evening With Robbie Williams’.
