The Geelong/Djilang songwriter invites us yet again into her world of inner desire and expectation.
Following in the footsteps of her mid-2024 single ‘Moon Love’, her exploration into the sonic territory of 80’s inspired synthesisers, vocal manipulations and perfectly poised song craft is both wistful and effortlessly engaging.

Collaborating again with Nick Huggins, the pair continue to thread the needle of heartbreaking delicacy and purposeful candour.
Brennan shares; “Kickstart is about the complexities between our inner desires and social expectations. The push and pull between knowing someone isn’t for you but knowing the desire is destructive. The self-awareness of knowing you’re out of control.”
The lyrics poetically detail the grip someone can have on you and how easy it can be to allow someone to walk into your life again and again. Yet, like in all of Rach’s lyrics there’s an ever present hope and joy of the learning experience of life.
Other collaborators in Brennan’s newest project include Zac Barter who helmed the song while it was still in its infancy. It was during these sessions where along with other familiar faces Kane Sherriff (Drums), Tom Stevenson (Guitar) and Liam Brennan, the band incepted the moody, vortex-like ambience of the track.
Her new self-titled project is a decidedly raw departure from her band The Pines, who played their last gig June 2021. While RB&TP was a celebration of naivety and early-20’s growing pains, this new chapter is embracing maturity and discomfort, emboldened by Rach’s confidence to create moodier material with her adapted band.
Having recorded an entire new catalogue of unheard songs with her long-term musical collaborator Liam Brennan and producers Nick Huggins and Zac Barter, Rach is excited to introduce this new era of music both live and recorded in 2025.
