Rach Brennan Chats the Band, Gigs and an Upcoming Album

Pop-folk and country songstress Rach Brennan and her band are not only pumped for their upcoming gigs, but for the exciting new release that’s yet to come. The 22 year-old singer-songwriter has played countless gigs both nationally and internationally, taken out the Torrent This ‘Female Artist of The Year Award’ in 2013, and continuously inspires the next generation of musos through her music teachings.

Rach is backed by a band of four, including brother Liam Brennan and partner Levi Anderson. Having teamed up with close friends to form the band, Rach says, “It’s fun to share music with the people you care about – it’s really ideal.” They will be performing at the Birregurra Music and Arts Festival alongside other local acts including Residual and Famous Will.

The band have been working especially hard as of late. “The band and I have really been knuckling down these last three months, writing and getting all our songs together. We’re recording an album in September!” The nine track album will contain new songs from the band, and also some old favourites. While a release date is not yet confirmed, the album will likely be available by the end of the year.

Using her song writing abilities and musical talent as an emotional outlet, Rach describes the upcoming album as an accumulation of everything that’s happened in the last couple of years. “Basically it’s a toast to those times and moving forward,” she says. Rach and her skilled band mates use their experiences to master the art of song writing and work together to produce songs that are not only satisfying for listeners, but for themselves. “It’s a nice thing to be able to write songs, release them and show people; then you feel like that chapter is finished and you can move on.”

With an album recording to dive into, plus exciting upcoming shows, Rach Brennan and her band look forward to sharing their new material with fans, and with her home of Geelong. “We have some great original venues [in Geelong]. I’m so lucky that a lot of venues support my music,” she says. Keep an eye out for details about Rach Brennan’s album on her Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/rachbrennanmusic
