Returning for its 24th year this November, the Peninsula will welcome the likes of Archie Roach, The Bamboos, Client Liaison, Emma Donovan & The Putbacks, John Butler, Julia Stone and Sam Teskey as part of their largest first lineup announcement that we’ve seen from the festival in years.
With a huge focus on homegrown talent, Bones and Jones, Telenova, Mama Kin Spender, William Crighton, Gordon Koang, Jess Ribeiro, Didirri, Kee’Ahn and Mark Seymour & The Undertow will also be heading to the Bellarine at the end of the year. For those keen to hit up a festival with the family, QMF has also announced Bluey & Bingo at the Bluey Live Interactive Experience, plus ARIA Award winning kids band the Teeny Tiny Stevies. And that’s just the start with more artists set to be revealed.
“We’re doing our absolute best to make QMF 2021 a reality” says Andrew Orvis (Festival Director). “We’re committed to doing everything we can in order to support our local community, and the Music/Arts/Events industries who are all struggling so much right now, and announcing our lineup today is the first step.”
“We’re extremely proud of this fine bunch of artists and we thank them for believing in us and committing to joining our little party in Queenscliff this November,” the festival said in a press release. “It’s the largest 1st lineup announcement we’ve released in a long time, and it reflects an amazing and diverse bunch of AUSTRALIAN artists.”
The 24th iteration of the festival was scheduled to take place from November 27 – 29 last year but the festival was forced to postpone until November 26 – 28, 2021 as a result of the disruptions caused by COVID-19.
As always, a fine selection of craft beers, wines and local produce will be available for festivalgoers to peruse, however, this year’s Festival will operate with a heavily reduced capacity, and with carry over tickets from 2020, tickets are already sitting at 65% sold. Usually selling out previous editions will in advance of the event taking place and now with a reduced cap, it’s going to be a seriously hot ticket.
“We’re doing our absolute best to make QMF 2021 a reality. Our COVIDSafe Plan has been submitted to the Victorian State Government, and as soon as we can we’ll share the approved plan with you. It is our desire that this years QMF will be as close to ‘normal’ as we can make it, just with a reduced capacity and some new ‘COVID normal’ things in place.”
So quick stix on the tix and get Bellarine bound for three days of sensational sounds from all corners of the country. Heck… we’re all going to need to let our hair down by November!
