Starting June 2, The Winter Night Market returns every Wednesday until the end of August, with decadent food, handcrafted jewellery and goods, live performances and a whole spectrum of fun for everyone.

We all get a little bit sluggish in the cold season. Watching Netflix on the couch becomes a nightly ritual, and sometimes all you want to do is put those worn Ugg-Boots on and call it a day. But as we emerge from the social hibernation that was last year, what better way to break up a dreary week this cold season with Queen Victoria Markets: Winter Night Market series, every Wednesday from June 2 to August 25.

The key takeaways

  • Winter Night Market starting every Wednesday from June 2 till August 25
  • Featuring global food and beverage vendors plus live music and goods stalls
  • Free entry and $10 flat rate parking

The place will be packed with vibrant food stalls with all the hearty favourites. Smoky barbecue and melted cheese pasta, spicy curries, pan fried dumplings and oozing chocolate desserts at your fingertips. Then why don’t you wash that all down with craft beer and mulled wines.

Then maybe to hopefully walk off that food-baby, look through the artisan stalls of jewellery, clothing, art, books, homewares and skincare.

And if you happen to stumble in mid-season, then experience the closest thing we’ll have to a white Christmas, with illuminated Christmas trees, snow, Santa Claus, eggnog and carollers.

The Night Market Series is sure to be a sensory feast where one can simply sit by a fire pit and soak in the live performances, the bustle of the people and the rich sights, sounds and smells, or dive headfirst in everything it has to offer.

A full list of the season’s food and beverage traders will be posted in the coming weeks, sure to please everyone. And with so much happening, one visit may just not be enough.

With parking available at a $10 dollar flat rate, and festivities kicking off at 5pm till 10pm each Wednesday, it’s hard to imagine a reason why you shouldn’t make the trip up.

Oh, and there’s no entry fee. So just come rugged up in your favourite coat with an empty stomach.
